Model, wife, TV personality and soon-to-be mom, the multi-hyphened beauty is now adding “cookbook author” to her list of accomplishments.

The same week Sports Illustrated cover model Chrissy Teigen announced the pregnancy of her long-awaited child with superstar husband John Legend, news broke that her first cookbook, Cravings: Recipes for What You Want to Eat, would be arriving two months earlier than expected. Its launch means the star of MTV, Cooking Channel specials and cohost of ABC’s new FABLife daytime talk show, will realize yet another big dream.
Teigen, wildly popular with fans and foodies via Instagram, Twitter and her food blog, SoDelushious.com, has done a brilliant job whipping together a passion for cooking with lots of ultra-spicy antidotes and hilarious dashes of culinary failures. The end result is a tasty sampling of recipes and real life shared with contagious enthusiasm by a surprisingly approachable celebrity whose millions of followers feel as if they’ve cooked with her forever.
Previews of the book’s gorgeous photography and easy-to-follow directions are intriguing even to non-cooks. With nearly 100 original recipes — including ones that earned her title of “Soupmaster,” others borrowed from her Thai mother, along with sandwiches and snacks by her live-in (lovely!) sous-chef, John — Teigen dishes up huge helpings of fun and style.
Published by Clarkson Potter of Penguin Random House’s Crown Publishing Group, Cravings’ due date is 2/23/16 ($27). Ready for seconds, anyone?
