South Florida’s annual Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry returns to Soho Studios in Wynwood, Friday, May 12, 2017. The area’s top chefs, sommeliers and mixologists will unite under the leadership of new Chef Chairman Timon Balloo to provide guests with savory samplings, craft cocktails and delectable desserts.
The benefit will also feature a silent auction with exclusive packages and a Citi lounge area for guests to relax and savor specialty cocktails. New to this year’s festivities will be the first ever Taste of the Nation Speakeasy featuring six of the hottest mixologists in South Florida paired with a select spirit, serving a specialty cocktail of their creation.
Following the main tasting event is an after party for VIP Ticket holders, at nearby R House where Chef/Owner Rocco Carulli will team up with additional restaurants to treat guests to tasty bites and pours late into the night.
Proceeds from the event benefit No Kid Hungry, a campaign of national anti-hunger organization Share Our Strength, which fights to end childhood hunger by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. In 2016, South Florida’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry raised enough to help feed children in need more than 700,000 healthy meals. Local beneficiaries include Florida Impact, FLIPANY and Feeding South Florida.
General admission tickets are priced at $125 per person. VIP tickets are priced at $175 per person and provide admission to the after party. VIP Plus tickets are priced at $200 per person and provide access to the event one hour before the doors open as well as admission to the after party.
