NAKED CRAB only opened its doors inside the newly launched B Ocean Hotel Ft. Lauderdale in February, but it already seems to be a hit. The casual seafood eatery is buzzing and fully booked on a Wednesday night as patrons order up three-tiered seafood towers and rounds of crafted cocktails.
The latest of Chef, Ralph Pagano’s NAKED concept restaurants, with prior openings, NAKED TACO in Miami Beach, and NAKED LUNCH in Wynwood, NAKED CRAB offers a rounded menu with the freshest seafood and quality ingredients playing the starring roles. Guests are presented with an up-to-date “Fish Scorecard” featuring the day’s fresh fish, oysters, clams, lobster and of course, daily crab specials available at the help yourself seafood bar. Oysters are flown in from select coasts like plump and briny Plymouth Rock from Massachusetts, Black Duck Salts from the Canadian waters and Naked Cowboy and Naked Cowgirl from Long Island.
Best known for his appearances on Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen and Lifetime Channel’s Cooking Show, Quickbytes, Chef Pagano and his company YES Hospitality Group wanted to create the perfect balance of comfort and charm for this prime seaside location.
“Naked Crab is a stripped-down, dressed-up crab and seafood house, cooking up classic signatures with the freshest, most delicate and impeccably-sourced fish and sushi, where, fundamentally, raw is hot,” explains Ralph Pagano. “B Ocean Resort is located at the tip of Fort Lauderdale Beach and is one of the most iconic properties with so much history. Serving up all things fish, crab and fun just seemed like the ideal choice.”
An all Day menu is divided into a variety of sections from “Starters” including Bacon, Eggs & Toast with oestra caviar + crispy pork belly confit or Signature Super Crab Dip; to “Chilled Plates“ including a variety of hearty salads and poke bowls and “Seaside Classics“ such as The Lobster Roll and Crazy Sexy Tuna with sesame seared tuna + edamame.
